1. Identity and regulatory status

Silverstein Ventures is the identity used for Taylor Silverstein’s private and public company investment record. The investments documented here are made with his own capital.

Silverstein is not a venture-capital fund, hedge fund, asset manager, investment adviser, broker or investment service. Taylor does not manage outside capital, accept investor subscriptions or offer interests in a fund through this website. He does not work for the portfolio companies or investment platforms named on this website. His use of Crowdcube, Republic Europe and StartEngine is as an investor and a user of those platforms. No FCA authorisation or regulated status is claimed.

The professional presentation of the site does not change the personal nature of the portfolio.

2. The name and scope of the website

Silverstein Ventures combines Taylor’s surname with “Ventures”, a word used here to describe the businesses he has backed and the investment journey he is documenting. The name gives his personal investment record a consistent identity within the wider Silverstein website network.

“Ventures” is deliberately broader than venture capital: this record includes private and public company investments, pending allocations and historical positions. It describes the subject of the website, rather than a fund structure, professional qualification or regulated service. The name does not mean that Silverstein operates a venture-capital fund or a separate investment company.

A venture-capital business may invest its own balance-sheet capital or manage a fund for outside investors. An asset manager may make investment decisions for clients; an adviser may recommend investments; and a broker or crowdfunding platform may arrange or execute transactions. Silverstein Ventures instead documents Taylor’s own investments. It does not offer those services, accept client money, pool subscribers’ capital or give visitors an interest in Taylor’s portfolio. Read more about the name and these distinctions.

This disclaimer applies to the company portfolio, its private and public sections, and the company profiles. Crypto, Bonds and Commodities publish their own asset-specific disclosures within their respective sections.

3. Portfolio records and classifications

Active entries reproduce current holdings in the inspected source register. Pending entries are campaigns or allocations that are not presented as settled holdings. Archived entries are historical positions, not current active investments. Share quantities for pending and archived records should be read in those contexts.

Kraken is retained in Ventures as a pending secondary allocation of company shares through Republic Europe. It does not appear in Silverstein Crypto, which is reserved for directly owned cryptocurrencies. Taylor confirmed on 10 October 2026 that he does not currently own any cryptocurrencies. Glint appears as a pending allocation of company shares, not evidence of Taylor’s ownership of gold or silver.

4. Investment risk and no advice

This site is published for general information and personal reference. It does not provide investment, financial, legal or tax advice, an offer or solicitation to buy or sell an investment, or a personalised recommendation.

Portfolio inclusion is not a recommendation to invest. Investments can lose value. Some investments may be difficult to sell, and losses may include all the capital invested. No return, valuation, safety or future performance is promised.

Do not treat this site as the sole basis for an investment decision. Any independent investment decision requires consideration of the relevant instrument, provider, documents, risks and personal circumstances.

Private-company shares

Private-company investments may be difficult or impossible to sell, may take years to produce a return and may lose all their value. Further fundraising can dilute an existing shareholding or introduce shares with different rights. A crowdfunding platform’s involvement does not guarantee a company’s success. The FCA’s crowdfunding guidance and non-readily realisable securities guidance explain these risks.

Public-company shares

Listed shares can fluctuate sharply and dividends are not guaranteed. A public listing does not remove company, market or liquidity risk, and a quoted price is not a guaranteed sale price. Portfolio quantities are a historical record rather than a live dealing or valuation service.

5. Third-party names, affiliations and links

Company names and any trademarks belong to their respective owners and identify the businesses discussed. Owning shares does not, by itself, establish a partnership, endorsement, sponsorship, control or a relationship with company management.

Links to external websites are provided for reference. Their content, availability and privacy practices are controlled by their operators.

6. Sources, accuracy and limitations

The original portfolio snapshot was checked against TaylorSilverstein.com on 10 October 2026 and retained locally on Silverstein. Subsequent corrections supplied by Taylor update the personal record. The Revolution Beauty Group plc entry and its 125-share quantity were confirmed by Taylor on 10 October 2026, replacing the previous Mothercare holding. Company pages, category pages and pop-ups do not depend on that former portfolio website remaining available. This is not an audited ownership statement, a live market-data feed or a valuation service. Information may change after the source check.

The detailed active register contains 43 private-company entries; the source homepage says 42 and another introduction says “Forty”. This site uses the 43 reconciled detailed records.

Sheep Inc is in the source archive with the label “Liquidation”, while its narrative records a creditors’ meeting to consider liquidation. Completion of that process and appointment of liquidators were not established by the inspected source. The archive classification is retained, with the qualification in its detail panel.

Missing fields are omitted rather than estimated. No investment amount, company valuation, bond coupon, maturity, yield or credit rating has been inferred.

7. Branding and illustrative material

The Silverstein investment colour is #F4FF00. The ™ label identifies the requested brand name; it does not assert that a colour trademark has been registered or that exclusive rights have been established.

Decorative network and material illustrations are original abstract artwork. They are not photographs, quantities or representations of assets owned by Taylor. Typographic company names are identification, not fabricated company logos.

8. UK legal and regulatory framework

This overview explains relevant UK boundaries for the activities described on this website. It is not an exhaustive legal assessment, a regulatory approval or a substitute for professional advice. Applicable obligations depend on the facts, the type of investment, the audience and the activities actually undertaken. The Silverstein Ventures name and this disclaimer do not create an exemption.

Authorisation and the nature of the activity

Under section 19 of the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000, a person must not carry on, or purport to carry on, a regulated activity in the UK unless authorised or exempt. Section 22 and the FCA’s business test guidance explain how the activity and its business context affect that assessment. Investing personal money is different from offering services to clients, but using only one’s own capital is not a universal exemption from financial-services law.

Asset management, advice and arranging transactions

The Regulated Activities Order 2001 identifies discretionary management of another person’s qualifying investments as a regulated activity. Article 53 addresses advice on the merits of particular investments, and article 25 addresses arranging investment transactions. Advice can fall within the regulatory perimeter even when it is not a personalised recommendation. Silverstein Ventures does not manage visitors’ portfolios, recommend what they should buy or sell, or arrange their transactions. Visitors who independently use an external provider enter a separate relationship with that provider.

Funds and pooled capital

Section 235 of FSMA defines collective investment schemes by reference to the arrangements involved, including participants’ control and pooling or management of property. The FCA’s alternative investment fund guidance explains a separate, overlapping fund regime, including capital raised for investors under a defined investment policy. Silverstein Ventures does not raise subscriptions from visitors or offer units, shares or profit rights in a pooled portfolio. Any future fundraising or management of outside capital would require a fresh assessment before it began.

Financial promotions and online content

Section 21 of FSMA restricts business communications that invite or induce investment activity unless a lawful route applies. As the FCA’s financial promotion guidance explains, this can include websites and social media. Relevant routes include communication by an authorised person, approval by an authorised person lawfully able to give it, or a properly applicable exemption under the Financial Promotion Order 2005. Company profiles here are intended to record personal holdings rather than invite investment. Describing content as “information only” or adding “not financial advice” does not, by itself, remove a promotion or advice requirement.

Market conduct and published recommendations

Personal investing does not remove obligations under UK Market Abuse Regulation where it applies. These include restrictions on insider dealing, unlawful disclosure of inside information and market manipulation. Public content that constitutes an investment recommendation or suggests an investment strategy within Article 20 can require objective presentation and disclosure of relevant interests or conflicts. Taylor may have a financial interest in companies discussed here, as indicated by their portfolio records; that interest should be read alongside his commentary.

Compensation and complaints protection

This personal website does not offer a regulated financial service to visitors, and no FSCS protection or Financial Ombudsman Service access is claimed for it. Any protection associated with a separate investment or platform depends on the provider, the activity and the eligibility rules. The FCA’s explanation of FSCS and FOS protection also makes clear that poor investment performance is not, by itself, covered. A provider’s authorisation does not mean every product it offers is regulated or protected.

9. Other website obligations and legal rights

Where personal data is processed in connection with the website, the UK GDPR and data protection principles and the Data Protection Act 2018 may apply. Information about actual processing must reflect the data collected, its purpose, retention and recipients; this investment disclaimer is not a privacy notice.

Cookies and similar device-storage technologies are subject to the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations, including information and consent requirements where applicable and any available exceptions. New analytics, advertising, mailing-list or account features require consideration of the rules relevant to those features before they are introduced.

Nothing in this disclaimer removes legal rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricts liability where the law does not permit it. Where consumer law applies, section 62 of the Consumer Rights Act 2015 provides that unfair consumer terms and notices are not binding. Any future commercial services would require terms and disclosures suited to the services actually offered.
